This demonstration is based on the structure of a real Opera PMS Trial Balance report, rebuilt with synthetic hotel names, codes and amounts. The simplified daily close example shows one report creating the Invoice and related settlement records for the day.
Settle the Invoice while keeping excess payments visible.
In this example, Visa and Mastercard are fully applied, while $390 of the $460 Amex settlement is applied to the Invoice and the remaining $70 becomes an Overpayment. The full $120 Debit settlement is also unused and becomes a separate Overpayment.
Cash is handled separately under the agreed setup as a $180 Credit Note applied to the Invoice. The Invoice is fully settled, while the two unused payment amounts remain visible in Xero as $190 of total excess.
