Start with a cleaner structure
Instead of recreating every part of the old setup, the new organization can use agreed account names, account numbers and tracking. Useful distinctions in old accounts can sometimes be preserved as tracking even when those accounts are combined or retired.
Bring the history you still need
The conversion can bring forward the historical transactions and supporting information agreed for the project, using the new account structure where appropriate. The old organization can then be retired once the move is complete.
Start working sooner
In some projects, Swift can set up the agreed accounts, contacts and starting information, establish a cut-off date and let current work begin in the new organization while older history is still being prepared.
Two approaches can work. Some conversions are prepared and reviewed before the new organization becomes the working file. In others, day-to-day work can begin first and older history can be added afterward as it is completed.
